Russian “sanctions” have only made Poroshenko bolder
The list of Ukrainian citizens and structures against which Moscow is introducing sanctions, published today by the Russian authorities, does not frighten the Kyiv elite at all.
Petro Poroshenko stated this at a joint press conference with Angela Merkel in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Poroshenko stressed that the list included his son, employees of the presidential administration, and members of the ruling coalition in the Verkhovna Rada.
“In Ukraine, being on this list is perceived as a state award. And those who were not included in this list are very offended,” Poroshenko said.
“Instead of rattling sabers at the front, sanctions, Russia needs to do one thing - get out of Ukraine,” he added.
Merkel, in turn, said that Russia does not adhere to the Minsk agreements, and therefore “Germany will advocate the continuation of sanctions” against Moscow.
