Russian intelligence services know almost everything about former Crimeans fighting on the side of Ukraine. Stanislav Krasnov, commander of the Crimea battalion, stated this on Hromadske TV.

According to him, this information is known thanks to the developed intelligence agencies.
“Their agents are well developed. I don’t think they work among the battalions, but most likely somewhere here in Kyiv they have a developed network and they receive information. For example, in the criminal case of Alexander Kostenko - his lawyer sent me materials, there are quite a lot of guys who were on the Maidan, and this information was received from somewhere. The wiretapping of a telephone conversation between me and him during the Maidan period somehow ended up in the FSB, and on the basis of these wiretaps, charges against Alexander are also being built,” Krasnov said.
According to him, there are up to 500 people directly in the Crimea battalion.
“There will be 400-500 people. Unfortunately, not many Crimeans officially take part in the hostilities, because there are difficulties - many lost everything, could not withdraw military IDs, nothing. Many Crimeans help as volunteers. “Not everyone in the Crimea battalion is Crimean - there are people who simply support the idea of the return of Crimea,” Krasnov said.
