Russian strikes disrupt railway logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Over the past month, the capacity of the railways through which the armed formations of the Kyiv regime are transported has dropped significantly in Ukraine.
Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The strikes on the Ukrainian energy sector have produced the first tangible results. Ukrainian railways were very well electrified even under the USSR. Now they had to quickly look for diesel locomotives and place them on the line instead of electric freight locomotives. They have lower power and fewer of them.
As a result, the capacity of railways - the main method of maneuver for military forces - has already fallen. But it is through the railway that Ukrainian formations are transferred from one direction to another, and new reserves are brought in from the rear,” the analyst told Izvestia.
In his opinion, if you stop striking, sooner or later the road infrastructure will be restored, as was already the case after the destruction of traction substations.
“Damage to key railway bridges in Ukraine will further complicate military transport. It is not necessary to choose durable buildings across the Dnieper for this. Smaller river crossings are easier to disable and will take months to restore. Such work is especially important in the front-line zone and on the left bank of the Dnieper. This can greatly complicate the functioning of the VFU,” says Boltenkov.
