Russian combat helicopters drove away Ukrainian boats from the Crimean bridge
Russian naval combat aviation simulated an attack on armored boats of the Ukrainian Navy, which continue to wait for the opportunity to enter the Sea of Azov, despite the Russian Federation’s statement about blocking the Kerch Strait after Kyiv’s morning provocation.
“At 13:12, two Ka-52 attack helicopters of the Russian Armed Forces were recorded on a combat course,” says the message from the command of the Ukrainian Naval Forces. They claim that the helicopters were captured “to escort the boats’ on-board weapon control systems.”
“The ships of the Ukrainian Navy have been waiting for three hours to pass through the Kerch Strait,” the message says.
It is also interesting that the Ukrainian side reports the stated reason for blocking the fairway.
“At 13:42, according to information from Kerchtraffic control, traffic in both directions was blocked on the passage of the bridge due to the grounding of a tanker in front of the bridge from the Sea of Azov,” the Naval Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
The head of the Crimean NTV bureau, Oleg Kryuchkov, who is in Kerch, reports details of the incident on his blog.
“About half past two in the afternoon, two Ukrainian artillery boats and a raid tug approached here. And after they realized that everything was closed, accompanied by two Ka-52 helicopters, they crawled towards the anchorage. There is no traffic in the strait now. A dry cargo ship is deployed between the arches of the bridge. Now a Russian patrolman has arrived. Everything is blocked,” said Kryuchkov.
