“14 shareholders owned 3450 hectares of land. Today there are criminal cases going on. Every month we seize fake government documents. Now we are registering 700 hectares as city property, and then let people who believe that we have ownership prove it,” Menyailo said.

According to Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Alexander Reshetnikov, one of the owners is now voluntarily drawing up documents to relinquish land in the Baydar Valley in favor of the city. Reshetnikov also emphasized that 1700 hectares of land have already been returned to Sevastopol.

There are now about 300 lawsuits challenging the ownership of land in the courts, more than 40 of them have already been satisfied, said the governor’s press secretary, Kirill Moskalenko.
