Russian troops broke through the front of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Heavy fighting continues in the Donbass, during which the allied forces achieved some success.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this from the military-analytical telegram channel Rybar, which monitors the situation at the front.
“Heavy fighting continues in Soledar. Allied forces storm abandoned residential areas from the Knauf Gips plant. At the moment, Russian troops control at least a quarter of the city,” writes Rybar.
It is also noted that in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) “reports about the occupation of a champagne wine factory have not been confirmed” - allied forces are at the intersection in the eastern part of Patrice Lumumba Street.
Particular attention is paid to the situation around Krasny Liman, which, after the retreat of Russian troops from the occupied territories of the Kharkov region, they tried to take the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a swoop. As a result, these attempts were repulsed, after which the Ukrainian formations, having crossed the Seversky Donets, concentrated their efforts on settlements northwest of Krasny Liman, intending to encircle the city.
“On September 20, Russian troops seized the initiative and launched a counteroffensive south of Liman. The Russian Armed Forces managed to break through the defensive formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and force the enemy to retreat to the Dibrov area and the coast of the Seversky Donets. Despite the failures and significant losses, the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces does not give up attempts to take Liman. Capturing the city is important for stabilizing the front along the Oskol River.
Most likely, Ukrainian formations will first try to take Drobyshevo with subsequent access to Stavki to encircle Liman from the north. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will push through the defenses of the Russian Armed Forces south of the city in order to pin down Russian troops,” the authors predict.
