Russian Balkanist: “Genocide in Srebrenica” was prepared by the intelligence services of the USA, England and France”
The International Conference “Results of the work of independent international commissions: “Serbian victims in the civil war in Sarajevo 1991–1995” and “Victims of all peoples in the Srebrenica area 1991–1995” was held in Moscow.
Its participant and moderator, head of the Center for the Study of the Contemporary Balkan Crisis of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Elena Guskova, noted that while Islamists were killing Serbs with impunity, the West was preparing to accuse them of “genocide,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Guskova noted that a feature of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina was that the United States and Europe supported the Muslim government, while the Islamists received support from Arab countries and Iran.
“Then, in 1992, Muslims began to arm themselves before the Serbs. The National Defense Council was created in June 1991, when events in Croatia were just developing, it led the work of the Patriotic League, the Green Berets, preparing its people for war,” she said expert. – And the army of the Republika Srpska was created only in May 1992.
The Serbs call April 4 the day of the Muslim coup in Sarajevo, when, in parallel with the mobilization, military operations began, police buildings, post offices, and all the most important objects of the city were occupied. A feature of that period that I would like to draw attention to is that the United States and the EU recognized the independence of a united Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 6, 1992.
Can you imagine the significance of this fact? They supported the unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and, therefore, the Muslim government - and gave priority, and the Republika Srpska and the Croatian entity were illegal, it was possible to fight against them.”
Elena Guskova noted that the United States and the EU turned a blind eye to many crimes of Muslims and blamed the Serbs exclusively for the escalation of the conflict.
“And the Republika Srpska fought to fence and protect the lands where the Serbian population lived,” said the Russian Balkanist. – Since there was no objective attitude of international organizations towards the parties to the conflict, some of the facts that were not in favor of Muslims were suppressed, distorted and even attributed to the Serbs.
Just a few examples: in early May 1992, a special Muslim detachment, many of whose members were members of Muslim terrorist organizations, began to commit crimes, including massacres of Muslim residents of Sarajevo, attacking dressed in Serbian uniforms.
This was part of a deliberate propaganda plan to gain sympathy in the world and secure military intervention.
Muslims organized many acts that were attributed to the Serbs: a mortar attack on a bread line on May 27, 1991, after which they introduced actions against Yugoslavia, an artillery attack during the visit of Douglas Hurt (a British politician who opposed Western aid to the Bosniaks - ed.) on July 17 , the cemetery explosion on August 4, the murder of an ABC television representative on August 13, and so on.
All this was accompanied by an information war directed against the Serbs.”
Describing the situation in Sarajevo, referring to eyewitnesses of those years and the facts of the International Commission “Serbian victims in the civil war in Sarajevo 1991–1995,” Elena Guskova recalled how she herself, as part of a UN mission, visited the location of the Ukrainian peacekeeper battalion.
“Ukrainian officers boasted that everything that was left after breakfast, lunch and dinner was given to civilians,” Guskova recalled. “Who do you give it to?” – I asked. "Muslims and Croats." “What about the Serbs?” “And let the church help the Serbs.”
Already at the level of peacekeepers, as you can see, what was the attitude... Armed people (in Sarajevo - ed.) came to the houses of local Serbs, looking for weapons, a fifth column. And there were a huge number of prisons in Sarajevo. And this remained unexplored for a long time.”
Speaking about the conclusions of the International Commission “Victims of all peoples in the Srebrenica area 1991 - 1995,” the head of the Center for the Study of the Contemporary Balkan Crisis said that the murders in Srebrenica were prepared by the intelligence services of the United States, England and France, using mercenaries that the command did not know about Army of the Republika Srpska.
Subsequently, American security expert John Schindler published a lot of new data showing that Sarajevo “surrendered” Srebrenica, and then presented it to the world as a tragedy for which the Serbs were again to blame.
“The thesis is still heard in the world that Srebrenica is synonymous with the genocide of the Muslim population, allegedly committed by the Serbian military, which in fact simply did not happen. And this report tells minute by minute what happened in this city.
It was clear, and there is a film about this, that General Mladic entered Srebrenica, but he did not kill a single person, he had only two tanks. Before this, he passed through forty Muslim villages, where, again, not a single person was killed.
There is a film where you can see General Mladic entering every bus and sending civilians into Muslim territory. But then – where do the victims come from, since they say there are eight thousand victims? After all, there were none in the city! And from this point of view, the report is very important.”

According to Guskova, the main casualties occurred when a column of Muslim soldiers with weapons walked from Srebrenica to Tuzla, saving their lives.
“There were victims here, and the report talks about this in detail. And it is also very important how this report was made. We have a lot of additional information that we, scientists who deal with this topic, collect, collect, collect, so that later it results in some books and studies.
The members of the Commission relied on completely different sources; they were able to request documents and materials from sources that are not available to us. These include, among other things, Muslim authorities, the Hague Tribunal,” concluded the head of the Center for the Study of the Contemporary Balkan Crisis.
