This was stated during the Moscow-Brussels video bridge by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the European Union, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vladimir Chizhov.
“From the little that we agree with the EU today, it is a statement that a return to “business as usual” is unlikely, and, in general, inappropriate. Our relations must inevitably acquire a more pragmatic character. Naturally, they should be more equal, based on mutual interest and a combination of interests of the two parties; on interdependence, which is quite large. And not on what the EU is used to calling “common values.” For the value of these values in our time is hardly indisputable,” he said.
