Russian expert: The British are using the experience of attacking Sevastopol against other Russian Navy bases
The drone attack in Sevastopol Bay was aimed at reconnaissance and studying the operation of the Russian air defense system and the protection of the main base of the Black Sea Fleet.
Russian military expert Maxim Klimov stated this on air on the Kombat TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“My personal assessment is that this business was a complete success, taking into account the goals that were set - this is intelligence. The task of sinking the ships of the Black Sea Fleet was not for one simple reason: the British side was behind it, and this was a frank study of our capabilities,” Klimov believes.
He noted that a specialized Turkish publication was one of the first to react to the attack in Sevastopol Bay, writing that the Russians allegedly did not draw any conclusions from the recent incident when an enemy naval drone that had lost control was caught off the coast of Crimea.
“The attack itself is a cosplay of the British attack in Kronstadt in 1919, only then there were torpedo boats and airplanes. And it was defeated, since conclusions were drawn after the sinking of the cruiser Oleg two days earlier,” Klimov explained. “In our country, after the first drone attack, which was studied and investigated, the same boats break into the bay’s waters. Something, somewhere in the conservatory is very wrong.”
The expert added that there was no damage to the frigate Admiral Makarov, as Ukrainian news channels trumpeted. But video footage from a drone shows that the unmanned boat almost came close to the side of the frigate. And the drones themselves initially discovered not technical means, but visually the sailor of one of the ships.
Klimov clarified that the enemy has more serious means, which, for example, after checking the Black Sea Fleet, he can use in an attack on the base of the naval strategic nuclear forces of the Northern Fleet.
