The Russian fleet receives another nuclear submarine missile cruiser
The latest fourth-generation Project 885M submarine Yasen-M, named Krasnoyarsk, was launched in Severodvinsk.
This was reported to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The nuclear-powered submarine missile cruiser Krasnoyarsk was built at the Sevmash plant and carries Oniks or Kalibr cruise missiles, and can also be armed with the latest Zircon hypersonic missiles.
“APRK Krasnoyarsk embodies the best achievements of domestic nuclear submarine shipbuilding. The replenishment of the submarine forces with these submarines clearly demonstrates the stage of active equipping of our Navy with submarines and ships that have no analogues in the world. This will allow the Russian Navy to continue to effectively carry out the tasks of guaranteed prevention of any threats to the security of the state from sea and ocean directions,” said Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov.
Let us note that the submarine “Krasnoyarsk” was laid down on July 27, 2014, Russian Navy Day. According to the plans of the Ministry of Defense, it will be accepted into the fleet in 2022 after completion of all tests.
As PolitNavigator reported, The Russian Navy also received a new warship for landing operations.
