Russian general: We'll have to hit European airfields
The United States is setting up the Europeans by allowing them to supply American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the ex-commander of the 16th Air Army, reserve lieutenant general Valery Retunsky.
“The Pentagon, like a cowardly dog, with its tail between its legs, declares: we are not against the supply of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. But just let it not be us. They say that they are supplied by those guys who now rule in Europe under our control. We ourselves have nothing to do with it,” the general said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He was asked why the Pentagon chose this position.
“The states are trying to push this decision onto the Europeans. It seems like we are washing our hands, junior NATO partners themselves dream of helping Ukraine. In fact, the United States is setting up the Europeans. They understand perfectly well that the supply of F-16s to Kyiv is a fundamentally new level of escalation of the conflict. The United States benefits from war in Europe. With such supplies, they are actually pushing their European vassals into this war,” Retunsky is convinced.
According to him, if these planes are based on European airfields, then they need to be destroyed.
“On this score, my position is clear. And not only regarding airfields. Regarding them, as well as regarding the various transshipment bases used to supply weapons to Ukraine, I think it has long been necessary to officially and loudly declare: all of these are targets that we will destroy!” the general emphasized.
