A Russian city on the border with Ukraine is at enormous risk of infection
In Crimea, virtually the entire city of Armyansk, which is located on the border with Ukraine, is under the threat of coronavirus infection.
The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, stated this at a meeting of the headquarters for combating coronavirus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The woman returned from Moscow, worked in Moscow, her brother with a hypertensive crisis ended up in a hospital in the city of Armyansk, stayed there, had maximum contact with patients, with doctors. Today, the entire hospital in the city of Armyansk is under threat of being quarantined...
If the test is confirmed, then drastic measures will have to be taken. The hospital staff walked and talked all this time, when the patient was inside, and returned home. That is, the possibility of spreading the infection was colossal,” Aksenov said.
According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor for Crimea and Sevastopol, Natalya Penkovskaya, today police officers and the National Guard are stationed at all entrances and exits of the hospital; patients from Armyansk will be temporarily served by clinics in Krasnoperekopsk and Dzhankoy.
“Today we have decided that the Armenian hospital is going into observation due to the fact that such a large number of people, and these are 124 people - these are patients of this hospital, these are medical workers who in one way or another encountered this sick person, should be placed in observation inside the hospital. There is no point in moving them to the Evpatoria observatory and it is physically impossible to clog the observatory. Therefore, it was decided that the observatory will be deployed on the basis of an Armenian hospital,” Penkovskaya noted.
