Russian Crimea is modernizing before our eyes
In the near future, Crimea will undergo further modernization and construction of new infrastructure.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin stated this at a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, a number of large-scale projects are being implemented on the peninsula that will make settlements more accessible to local residents and vacationers.
“The issue of three exits and bringing them to four lanes towards the southern coast - to Alushta, Sudak and Feodosia - has been fully worked out. We have also worked out the possibility of constructing and reconstructing a mountain road from Yalta to Bakhchisarai, all the money has been allocated, design work is underway, work has begun almost everywhere.
We allocated a large amount of money to repair and put in order municipal and regional roads - something that the city residents themselves are waiting for, in every village, in every regional center. If last year 431 kilometers of roads were repaired, then this year the plan is to repair 600 kilometers of roads...
We set ourselves the task of creating a full-fledged electric train between Simferopol and Sevastopol, and, moreover, extending it to the airport, taking into account the growing influx of tourists. So that a person can fly to the airport and to Sevastopol, if necessary, get there very quickly by train. The second task that we began to tackle is the possibility of using the railway network as urban transport in Sevastopol, we are actively working on this topic,” Khusnullin said.
