Russian oppositionist, co-founder and press secretary of the public movement “Maidan Without Borders” Valery Otstavnykh spoke about this at a press conference in Kiev on the topic “Results of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation: why the “boycott” defeated Putin and the “opposition”.
He said that he personally went to the polling station, taking with him an absentee ballot on which he wrote “This is not an election. This is not power. These are impostors"
“Anyone could do this, but, unfortunately, very few such photographs appeared. Firstly, because we started late and were unable to organize a mass boycott. Secondly, we were opposed by our colleagues, who called us “boycotters.” And, of course, human laziness also plays a role. It happened as we expected: the people declared a boycott of the special operation called “elections” by their failure to appear, but this was not our boycott, which we would like to see active, but it was a passive boycott, unfortunately,” the oppositionist complained.
At the same time, the Maidan activist claims, although she did not refer to any sources, that today “there is panic in the Kremlin” because they are afraid of low turnout in the presidential elections.
