The Russian submarine fleet demonstrated its combat capabilities in the Black Sea
Submariners of the Black Sea Fleet are learning to destroy sea and coastal targets of the “imaginary enemy” and launch missiles at enemy ships.
This was reported by the press service of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The latest Varshavyanka-class submarines, Stary Oskol and Rostov-on-Don, armed with Caliber cruise missiles, are taking part in the exercises.
“The crews of the submarines “Rostov-on-Don” and “Stary Oskol” of the Black Sea Fleet carry out a set of combat training activities in the sea ranges of the Black Sea.
The submariners practiced preparing boats for an emergency exit to the specified areas of the sea with the further implementation of tasks to detect, track and destroy sea and coastal targets of a mock enemy with electronic launches of missile weapons.
In the future, the crews will have to perform deep-sea dives with the placement of submarines on the ground, as well as work out the algorithm of actions to control the ship in case of an emergency ascent,” the message says.
Let us recall that the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation included six newest submarines delivered project "Varshavyanka", capable of delivering strikes with cruise missiles of the "Caliber" type.
Earlier, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for an increase in the alliance's military presence in the Black Sea.
