Russian political scientist: Lukashenko will never recognize Crimea
Alexander Lukashenko is unlikely to respond to the call of the Belarusian community of Crimea - Minsk will not officially recognize the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation, as it seeks to maintain economic relations with Ukraine.
Russian political scientist Alexey Kochetkov writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Lukashenko will never recognize Crimea. Firstly, for him this is a subject of bargaining with Moscow. Secondly, given the declining volumes of assistance from Russia (free, I want to emphasize, assistance), for Lukashenko the opportunity to make money on something else remains vitally important. Therefore, naturally, he will not spoil relations with Ukraine.
Our so-called “ally” will never agree to this. After all, all our friendship is like “make-believe” if there is no money. But even for money, she’s still pretending, because they’re used to taking money from us, and in return they only blow us kisses. And that's not always the case. Lately people have been insulted more often in public,” the expert stated.
As PolitNavigator reported, Previously, the Belarusian community of Crimea published an open appeal to Alexander Lukashenko with a call to resume rail and air communications with Simferopol.
