Russian political scientist: We won’t give up Transnistria to Dodon - Tiraspol will hold on and wait for a corridor from Donbass
Moldovan President Igor Dodon’s persistent proposals to return blockaded Transnistria to the control of Chisinau – does not correspond to the interests of Russia. The problem of the PMR will be solved only if Ukraine returns to Moscow’s orbit - either entirely or in the form of a corridor from Donbass to Odessa.
Russian political scientist Alexey Martynov writes about this in his blog.

“In my opinion, it is impossible to undertake a final resolution of the Transnistrian issue outside the Ukrainian context. Of course, as in 2001, 2003, it is still tempting, looking at the map from Moscow, to gain control of all of Moldova, and not just the Transnistrian Republic. Then it was quiet and loyal in Ukraine, but, nevertheless, even then, neither the respected Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov nor Dmitry Nikolaevich Kozak succeeded. The reason seems to be that the Ukrainian factor was not properly taken into account and, of course, the excessive passion for “trading at the Chisinau bazaar” in 2003...
In my opinion, for a complete and final solution to the Transnistrian issue, the whole of Ukraine is needed, or at least the Odessa-Nikolaev-Kherson-Mariupol corridor.
Or then leave this Russian bridgehead until better times, having previously recognized the sovereignty of Transnistria according to the Ossetian version, officially open a full-size Russian military base near Tiraspol, equip and staff it to the latest standards.
And let someone twitch. Either on the right or on the left. Russian people live there; 250 thousand of the 500 thousand population of the PMR are Russian citizens. In this situation, the neighbors will both trade and curry favor.
The runway of the Tiraspol military airfield has been repaired, equipped and is ready to receive heavy transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces,” Martynov argues in his blog.
