Russian political scientist: Provocations in Crimea and Donbass are inevitable. There will be escalation
Provocations on the borders with Ukraine will become more frequent until the end of November. Vladimir Pantin, head of the department of internal political processes at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, stated this on the Red Line TV channel.

“The Normandy meeting in September is needed exclusively by the United States. Obama needs to demonstrate that he has called Russia to order. Then it turns out that Russia “does nothing, is to blame for everything and is inciting the conflict.” And if conflict breaks out in September, he will wash his hands. However, even without a meeting, he will do the same. This game is dirty and hopeless,” Pantin said.
In his opinion, the situation is complicated by the fact that Russia will soon have to fight a protracted war on two fronts: Syrian and Ukrainian.
“The problem is that Russia is now focusing its attention on Syria, in Aleppo. Therefore, now is a convenient moment for the Kyiv regime to carry out various kinds of provocations in Crimea and Donbass. They are inevitable. There will be an escalation,” Pantin said.
