Russian political scientist: Why is our TV promoting the enemy Lukashenko?
In an interview with Alexander Lukashenko shown on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, he admitted that ready to restore ties with Bandera’s Ukraine and continue play multi-vector. Lukashenko is not an ally of the Russian Federation, and his PR has no place on Russian TV.
Political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“There is nothing to comment here - he openly admitted that he is not an ally of Russia and, moreover, that he will not be one in the future. But at the same time, he continues to exploit the theme of Russian-Belarusian brotherhood and rapprochement. But he sees it in exactly this way.
The fact is that all this has already been chewed over many times by political scientists, experts and analysts. Lukashenko adheres to a policy of moving to the West, but at the same time receiving resources for this movement from Russia. And he sees a danger in rapprochement with Russia, because real integration could deprive him of his personal, practically unlimited monarchical power in the republic.
And its multi-vector approach, support for Ukraine, and movement to the West allow it to remain to some extent independent of Russia. But, since there is a certain degree of interdependence between our countries, for some reason Lukashenko still manages to do this.
I don’t understand why, just as I don’t understand why Russian journalists are promoting him on the central channel “Russia 1”. For what? So that he could once again openly spit in our all faces? We have known Lukashenko for a long time and well - he is an enemy of Russia, definitely. Why promote him on our channels if he is an enemy - again, this is a question mark,” Bezpalko said.
