The Russian ambassador presented Lukashenko with a map on which Belarus consists of four Russian provinces
Russian Ambassador to Minsk Dmitry Mezentsev today congratulated President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on his birthday and presented him with a book with topographic maps of Vitebsk, Grodno, Minsk and Mogilev provinces. First copy of the 1866 facsimile edition.
This was reported by the official website of the Belarusian president, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is another confirmation of the fairness of the borders of Belarus, including an answer to all those who look differently,” Mezentsev said.
Lukashenko said that Russia and Belarus have made significant progress “literally in recent days” in solving existing problems.
“I would like this dynamic to be maintained... Of course, in the near future we will meet with the President of Russia and, probably, we will put an end to the implementation of these relations and agreements in order to move on. Of course, there will still be many questions, there always will be. When cooperation takes place, many issues arise; of course, they need to be resolved,” Lukashenko said.
