Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko again publicly responded to the anti-Russian attacks of the recently appointed US Special Representative for the Balkans Matthew Palmer, who argued that Moscow is interested in the instability of the region.

“Perhaps the hallmarks of support for stability are military aggression against a sovereign country, killing people, destroying infrastructure, bombing with depleted uranium, tearing states apart, separating peoples living in the same community, or imposing elections against the will of the people and the decisions of legislators and governments in favor of NATO membership? Or the glorification of villains and the “overthrow” of patriots and heroes, the falsification of history? – the Russian ambassador said in a statement.

“Washington’s strategy to strengthen stability through unconstitutional protests and interference in internal affairs is obvious and well known,” the diplomat added.

Botsan-Kharchenko noted that the American official’s accusations “do not correspond to common sense” - this is easily proven by the example of Serbia, whose stability Moscow is interested in, since leading Russian companies are implementing large, modern, long-term projects with the Serbian side.

“Matthew Palmer is still complaining about “unrest” on behalf of Russia. We agree: for us and many others, of course, “order” does not suit if it is “order” established by only one country from the outside. Let’s remember how the United States shows that it even plays a decisive role in the issue of joining the EU,” the ambassador emphasized.

“Indeed, it would be better if no one “created problems” for representatives of “democracy” and the “free market.” Neither bearers of different opinions, other values, traditions, cultures, nor economic competitors,” Botsan-Kharchenko explained the logic of the Americans.

The Russian diplomat also had to react to the attacks of the outgoing “Minister of Foreign Affairs” of Kosovo, Begjet Pazolli, who argued that it was Moscow that was behind the plan to return the Serbian enclaves to the control of Belgrade, and this should not be allowed, since, supposedly, changing the borders of the separatist entity would become a precedent for all of Europe.

“The former Yugoslavia has been destroyed in every possible way. In the end, it turns out that neither the dismemberment of the SFRY, nor the FRY, nor Serbia itself was a precedent, but the division of Kosovo would be a precedent. Such statements sound strange,” said Botsan-Kharchenko.

“The territorial integrity of Kosovo is inviolable, and you will find out sooner or later,” Pazoli snapped in response, as quoted by the Kosovo online portal.
