Russian permanent representative: “We are not 2% of the world economy, but 40% of resources”
The West’s project to dismember Russia is explained by the fact that 40% of the world’s mineral resources and the main base for the development of mankind are concentrated on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Georgy Muradov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Crimea and permanent representative of the republic to the President, stated this at a round table meeting “Russian Dream and Orthodox Culture,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The basis for today’s development is that we, again, are a unique country-civilization, on whose territory, as it turned out, 40% of natural resources. And the main basis for the development of humanity. And with the warming of the climate, which everyone laments in the West, our cultivated lands are moving further and further, opportunities are emerging for expanding human activity in Siberia, in the Arctic, and we are following this path.
That’s why the resourceless Western civilization, which has been trying to conquer us for centuries, is so jealous of us, saying that “God gave us undeservedly,” the official explained the logic of his opponents.
“Of course, ultimately, this was given to us by God, and by our pioneers, who for centuries developed these wonderful territories that seemed empty and meaningless to the world. And today we are not 2% of the world economy, as they are trying to convince us with false calculations, but 40% of resources that simply want to be taken away.
This is the basis for our further development, and we are almost the only ones left who preach basic human traditional values and ideals. Not only the preservation and development of peoples, but also the preservation of faith, history, memory of our ancestors, recognition of who we are, family, Motherland. For us, these are all words with the same root that have the most sacred meaning.”
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Russia's softness in the West is interpreted as weakness.
“What we lack is determination and a better psychological understanding of the West. If their challenge is answered softly, there will be new challenges. Moreover, the response, as understood by the Western community, must be immediately crushing, so that there is no new challenge. Otherwise, we will constantly face new challenges, shifting “red lines” that no one can understand where they are,” Muradov noted.
The official believes that the West's underestimation of the seriousness of Russia's intentions is wrong.
“But, probably, we don’t need to reach a situation where we declare the use of all available forces and means. Because before using them, we still have a lot of options to protect ourselves in today’s world,” concluded Muradov.
