A Russian intelligence officer told what is behind Kadyrov’s loud statements
The resonant speech of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is not connected with the internal Russian situation. This is a message to the global Islamic community. Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Leonid Reshetnikov stated this on air on the Politvera Internet channel.

“Ramzan Kadyrov is very harshly persecuting Wahhabis in Chechnya. There are practically none of them left there; they moved to other regions of Russia. Of course, there is a lot of criticism against him from the world Islamic community. Like, this is too much, we need to be more gentle with these movements in Islam. Now he has shown that when necessary, when it comes to justice, he defends Muslims, and not just drives away Wahhabis in short trousers. He showed that he protects the right Muslims,” Reshetnikov said.
Let us recall that on September 3, an unauthorized rally of Muslims took place in Moscow near the Myanmar embassy, in which representatives of the Chechen government played an organizing role.
The day before, Ramzan Kadyrov posted an appeal on the Internet in which he promised to support those who would protect Muslims in Myanmar, and even threatened to speak out against Russia if he did not support him in this matter (later Kadyrov denied these words, calling himself the “infantrywoman” of the president) . On September 4, a million-strong rally took place in Grozny, at which Kadyrov spoke.
On September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he did not see “any opposition” in Kadyrov’s behavior. He believes that the head of Chechnya, like any citizen, has the right to his personal opinion on foreign policy issues.
