Russian tanker captured as part of a dirty game in the bowels of the SBU
The detention of a Russian tanker by Ukrainian security forces on charges of blocking the passage through the Kerch Strait for Navy ships is a consequence of internal games in the SBU, where officials are afraid of resignations after the change of power in Ukraine and are trying to prove their importance.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Kolesnichenko reported this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
“If a tanker was stopped across the strait, it was done by the port captain’s services. And the captain of the ship is obliged to carry out all actions and orders of the pilot and the port captain. Therefore, there is no guilt here. This is the main thing.
And secondly, SBU employees need to keep their jobs, therefore, as always, before a change of power, the detention of spies, intelligence officers, terrorists, etc. is demonstrated in order to maintain their importance and justify the costs of the money that was spent.
Unfortunately, in Ukraine, with the new president, the military rhetoric does not change, and relations continue to deteriorate. In the near future, obviously, we will see another round of tension,” Kolesnichenko said.
