“There is Article 109 in the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Coup d’etat.” This article is under investigation by the SBU. At the end of January or beginning of February - I don’t remember the exact date now, we collected materials on this article, despite the fact that it was not our jurisdiction, registered it in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations and sent the materials to the SBU for investigation. How do you think it ended? This case was simply stopped. It was necessary to prepare a proposal to deprive all those individuals who organized this Maidan of parliamentary immunity,” Zakharchenko said.
To this, Solovyov noted that the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should have distributed weapons to Berkut employees and allowed them to carry out the regulations.
“A Berkut member, when he has a weapon, and when the rod is pointed at him, he understands what it means to shoot or not to shoot. But on the other side, the crowd understands that these are armed people, and they will defend themselves. When the Chinese faced this situation, they withdrew their tanks. When in the USA, they called the National Guard, when such a situation happened in Los Angeles, they called in reinforcements, and tens of thousands were arrested, many people were injured, and many people were killed. And when the government allows you to kill those who took an oath to defend it, and they stand without weapons, I am ashamed in front of the guys,” Solovyov said.
