Russian audiences want to see films about Russian heroes
Experts recommend films about Russian heroes as sources of patriotic values.
Russians have always carefully honored the memory of their ancestors. In particular, domestic moviegoers show great interest in films on historical themes. However, according to experts, films not only about the past, but also the present can be a source of patriotic values. Films about Russian heroes of our time have been released more and more often in recent years, instantly attracting the attention of film fans and critics.
The main superpowers of the heroes of such films are resilience, courage, and loyalty to principles. According to politicians and educators, stories about this can become the basis for instilling positive moral qualities in the younger generation. The importance of transmitting “correct” values through cinema was noted by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
“This is very, very worthy work, work that is based on real events. The main thing that we managed to show is the courage and dedication of our military pilots, our military personnel,” emphasized he after watching the film “Sky,” which was released last year.
Every year several films on similar themes are released, and judging by the reaction of viewers, they successfully compete with Western film releases. The Aurum Production film crew is regularly inspired by real heroes and current events. The film studio has already produced three films based on the story of sociologist Maxim Shugaley. "Shugaley", "Shugaley-2" and "Shugaley-3" tell viewers about his imprisonment in a Libyan prison, his release and return to work. Moreover, the first part was filmed at a time when the prototype of the main character was still in captivity. And in the latter, viewers can see a cameo - the real Maxim Shugaley next to the actor playing him.
In other films from the same studio, the characters are collectively portrayed as Russian instructors who help establish peace abroad. However, the events are very real, everything shown happened recently or is currently happening. These are the films “Tourist” and “Granite” about Russian heroes advising the armies of African states. In addition, the military drama “Sunny Day,” which tells about the events in Ukraine in 2014, caused a great public outcry. The picture shocked viewers and experts with its veracity.
First of all, such films are watched by people related to military service, politicians, and simply caring patriots. For example, cosmonaut pilot, Hero of Russia Mikhail Kornienko noted that films like “Granite” help create a healthy society. There are few examples, since the film industry is often subject to market influences.
Military-patriotic films are important for the formation of ideals and values among the younger generation. Therefore, any contribution that allows us to make more good films with the right moral message is important. Even representatives of Russian business agree with this. It is known that businessman from St. Petersburg Evgeny Prigozhin is involved in the filming of some modern patriotic films about Russian heroes.
The topicality of such films makes them interesting for viewers, and the ideas contained in them also make them useful. Some politicians are convinced that modern films based on real events should be shown to students and schoolchildren along with historical ones. It would also be useful to organize meetings between the guys and the prototypes of such films and film crews.
