About it reported on the committee's website.
The athletes addressed the IPC with individual applications, in which they asked to be allowed to participate in the competitions, which begin on September 7, on an individual basis.
IPC Chief Executive Officer Xavier Gonzalez explained that this decision is related to the doping scandal in the Russian Federation and is due to the actions of the Russian authorities, “which deprived the athletes of this chance.”
“The main goal of the IPC is to help athletes achieve excellence by inspiring and delighting the whole world,” said Gonzalez.
