Russian conscripts will be taught to shoot accurately and throw blades
Now in the Russian army, recruits will be taught the skills and techniques possessed by special forces soldiers, for which a new training subject has been introduced in the armed forces - army tactical shooting, which will be taught to soldiers, Suvorov officers and even schoolchildren.
The Secretary General of the Federation of Army Tactical Shooting in Russia, Chairman of the public organization “Moscow Suvorovites” Dmitry Nesterov spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“Conscripts in Russia will be taught such special techniques in advance, with the help of the military-applied sport “Army tactical shooting all-around.” This is necessary so that during service the serviceman can handle weapons safely, and most importantly, effectively,” said Nesterov.
He added that army tactical shooting is not only and not so much shooting, but a whole range of actions aimed at fulfilling a combat mission.
“Hand-to-hand combat, throwing a knife and a sapper blade, shooting training, providing first aid and performing tactical tasks,” the newspaper’s interlocutor said. – Which are performed by one fighter, two, or a group. The exercises themselves are designed to evaluate skills in quickly identifying targets, choosing an advantageous position to hit them, moving at a distance and accurately hitting targets.”
In preparation, not only the experience of special forces, but also Soviet developments will be used.
“It is worth remembering that back in the USSR they paid special attention to such training of young people. For this, Osoaviakhim and DOSAAF were created, and there were TRP shooting standards for everyone. There were shooting ranges in every school, every university, and almost every enterprise hosted military-applied competitions. For some reason, no one had any doubts then whether one should be able to shoot or not. And I am sure that during the Great Patriotic War this saved many lives,” Nesterov emphasized.
At the same time, he clarified that during training, military personnel will use standard weapons of their type, branch of the military - an assault rifle, a pistol, a sniper rifle, etc., and juniors will only use weapons with a pneumatic drive or a tactical-fire (laser) system for simulating shooting.
