Russian IT workers will be given a deferment from the army
The Russian government is considering the possibility of providing a deferment from the army in the Russian Federation among 30-40 specialties in the IT field.
The head of the competence center for import substitution in the field of ICT, Ilya Massukh, stated this at a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unprecedented history is a reprieve from the army. She is already in the government. We have a conscription on April 1, IT workers will be included in this conscription with a deferment from the army, and the deferment is final, up to 27 years. Persons who have a specialized higher education go there. The profile is quite broad - a list of 30-40 specialties, including mathematicians, analysts, and so on. Not just programmers.
And the second point: the concept of systemically important organizations is being introduced, which will also have a separate register, such as Yandex, all sorts of OZON, Mail.ru and smaller companies, the criterion will seem to be 1 billion rubles in turnover. And plus it should do something truly systemically significant.
An even more simplified regime is being introduced for these organizations; it is not necessary to have a higher education, it is enough to work in these organizations in their specialty, because there are careless IT people who do not graduate from higher education, but go straight to programming,” said Massukh.
