“Russian-Ukrainian war” is propaganda nonsense for internal use

All statements about the “Russian-Ukrainian war” are made by politicians in Kyiv for internal use; from the point of view of international law, a conflict between the two states has not been declared. Therefore, Moscow is not afraid of either lawsuits or demands for reparations from official Kyiv.

Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Russia is an occupier in Ukrainian legislation. Everything related to the international legal status of the conflict in the east and the perception of Russia as an occupier is a big question.

Yes, they use the terms “aggression”, “support”, “hybrid war”, “conflict”. But in international law, war between Ukraine and Russia does not exist. This means that all international norms related to the settlement of controversial issues, reparations, and so on do not apply to this.

So the conversation about whether there will be any judicial consequences for such actions is doubtful,” Ermolaev said.
