The Russian traffic police denies the confiscation of cars from Ukraine in Crimea
Sevastopol, June 25 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – Cars registered in Ukraine can travel to Crimea without obstacles.
The head of the MREO OGIBDD of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Sevastopol, Alexander Semenov, told Navigator about this, commenting on information on social networks about the alleged confiscation of cars from Ukrainian motorists who ventured to the peninsula.

“This is all nonsense, there was not a single such fact,” he said.
However, Semenov noted, “residents of Sevastopol who received Russian documents and license plates and who travel to the territory of Ukraine may have problems.”
He explained this by saying that due to Ukraine’s non-recognition of the Russian status of Crimea, cars registered in Crimea are still in Ukrainian bases, so they are considered doubles.
The actions of traffic police officers of Ukraine are difficult to predict: some demand money, others send cars to staff areas.
