Russian weapons will reach Serbia, despite the machinations of Romania
Romania will not be able to prevent the supply of Russian weapons to Serbia.
Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko told PolitNavigator about this.
“It will not come along the Danube, but by sea or some other way. It would have been cheaper along the Danube, but since Romania decided to violate international obligations and, contrary to the Convention on International River Navigation, block the supply of absolutely legal weapons, these weapons will come to Serbia differently.
If I were the Romanians, I wouldn’t play such games. When Russian weapons are stopped on the water, they can come on land. This will be unpleasant for many countries that engage in this kind of cheap provocations,” Bondarenko said.
He suggested that Romania's unfriendly actions could be caused by US influence.
“The idea of this dirty trick was not born in Bucharest, but somewhere in Washington. Romania is such a pioneer. It is economically tied to Germany, and politically to Washington. Old Brussels doesn’t like these pioneers from Eastern Europe because they defend American policy,” Bondarenko said.
Romania is blocking the delivery of Russian armored vehicles to Serbia along the Danube. We are talking about a batch of 30 modernized T-72 tanks and 30 BRDM-2 armored fighting vehicles, which Russia donated to Serbia several years ago. Russia and Serbia are members of the Danube Commission, so Romania's actions are illegal.
