Russian TV urged to stop calling LDPR “self-proclaimed”
It’s time for Russian television to stop using the incorrect formulation “self-proclaimed republics” in relation to the LDPR.
The famous Russian writer Nikolai Starikov stated this at a meeting with readers in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The phrase that I, unfortunately, sometimes hear on Russian television channels – “self-proclaimed Republic” – really hurts my ears. I always wanted to ask these journalists: “Could you give me an example of a state in the world that fell from the moon and was not self-proclaimed? Have you forgotten that the United States of America is a self-proclaimed state?
But if you are so principled and every time you want to remind us that this state is self-proclaimed, although all states are self-proclaimed, then say: “The President of the self-proclaimed United States of America, Donald Trump, arrived on a visit there...”.
Be consistent, why do you use these words only in relation to Donbass? So wrong!” – stated Nikolai Starikov.
Thank you!
