“Since the times of the USSR, it has always been there and has never been taken out of there. The Black Sea Fleet held nuclear weapons, and this was no secret to anyone,” Yakubets said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia has the right to deploy nuclear weapons anywhere on its territory. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk responded by saying that Crimea belongs to Ukraine, and therefore the West must prevent the emergence of a Russian nuclear arsenal on the peninsula.
