This was stated by the head of the selection point for military service under a contract in the city of Sevastopol, Sergei Goryachkovsky.
“There is a very high demand for drivers. We need drivers in all categories,” he said. The increase in demand, according to Goryachkovsky, is primarily due to the formation of new military units on the peninsula.
“It’s no secret now that we are forming new units. There are also those that already existed on the territory of Crimea before it became part of Russia.”
At the same time, Sergei Goryachkovsky emphasized that in the Russian army it is possible to improve driving skills if there is not enough experience. For this purpose, a probationary period is provided, which lasts three months. If necessary, the soldier “will be sent to training units to directly acquire the military specialty for which he is intended.”
