Russian thief in law was illegally given a Ukrainian passport
Russian thief in law Roman Kashcheev (Roma Krasnodarsky, Kashchey) illegally received a Ukrainian passport, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This fact was discovered by employees of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police during the investigation of criminal proceedings on the production of foreign passports for bribes in the Kiev department of the Migration Service.
During the detention of the suspected head of the State Migration Service department, security forces found a passport in the name of 44-year-old Kashcheev, says the police website.
It turned out that he received Ukrainian citizenship on a territorial basis, since his father was born in Ukraine. When submitting documents to the Migration Service, Kashcheev provided a copy of his Israeli passport and a birth certificate issued in the Moscow region.
Israeli law enforcement authorities reported that the passport was listed as stolen and had been issued to another person. The birth certificate also turned out to be fake.
Koshcheev himself is now in custody in Poland and is awaiting extradition to Russia, where he is suspected of organizing a criminal group, extortion, and illegal trafficking in weapons and drugs.
He faces a life sentence.
Let us remind you that a Ukrainian passport gives the right to visa-free travel to the European Union. According to the Henley & Partners Freedom of Movement Index, in total, a Ukrainian passport allows you to travel visa-free to 128 countries.
