Russian aviation faces complete import substitution
The Russian aviation industry expects to achieve complete import substitution within the next few years.
Prime Minister Mikhil Mishustin said this today, speaking at the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The most important thing for this industry is to achieve technological independence from foreign materials and components. This removes critical risks and protects against unfair actions of our competitors. Such as restrictions on the supply of composite materials for the wing of the MS-21 aircraft. Our industry has already mastered their production. Last December, an airliner with a domestic composite wing took to the skies for the first time.
Within two to three years, the aviation industry expects to complete the work of completely replacing all components and assemblies of this aircraft,” Mishustin said.
According to him, the state has allocated over 60 billion rubles for these purposes.
