On the Rossiya-24 TV channel, in the next weekly program “Twelve” by Sergei Shargunov, a story is shown about fighters for the Russian Crimea, who still have a Ukrainian criminal record for “separatism”.

Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, State Duma Deputy Yuri Sinelshchikov said that there are no legal obstacles to the rehabilitation of the leader of the Popular Front “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” Valery Podyachiy and his associate Semyon Klyuev in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation!

Let me remind you that already in the Russian Crimea, the courts twice refused to recognize the right to rehabilitation for activists of the “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” movement - on December 20, 2017 by a decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea and on February 13, 2018 by an appeal ruling of the Judicial Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea .

Both times former Ukrainian judges, who after 2014 went to work in the courts of Russian Crimea, recognized calls to return Crimea to Russia as a crime already from the point of view of the legislation of the Russian Federation. At the same time, both court decisions state that allegedly Russian legislation prohibits restoring the rights of Crimeans for criminal prosecution that was illegal from the point of view of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation during the Ukrainian occupation of the peninsula.

But Podyachiy and Klyuev were convicted for calls for the reunification of Crimea with Russia, that is, in fact, they were convicted for what became the subject of the referendum on March 16, 2014, in which 97% of Crimeans voted “FOR”.

Thus, there is a glaring fact: former Ukrainian judges, bound by the oath of allegiance they previously took to Ukraine, but who went to work in the courts of the Russian Crimea continue to make their decisions in the interests of Ukraine...

I believe that Such court decisions undermine the legitimacy of the people's will of the overwhelming majority of residents of the Russian peninsula and should come to the attention of the competent authorities ensuring national security issues in our state.
