Russia takes a strategic pause in relations with the West
Russia has put all its relations with the West on pause, seeing no prospects for cooperation with NATO and the European Union.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, Russia developed economic cooperation and contacts with the West, but in response it saw only a hostile policy towards itself, and therefore decided to pause relations.
“It seems to me that Russia believes that it is necessary to take a strategic pause. Russia has come to a conclusion for itself - I am, of course, talking about the elites who believe that there is no joint concept of cooperation between Russia and the West.
The West does not know why it needs Russia and what it can do with Russia, and Russia is trying to establish some kind of economic contacts with the West, conduct trade, establish economic ties, but it also does not understand and does not know how to work with the West, which is building civilization on two organizations that are hostile to Russia - NATO and the European Union. This means that Russia is taking a strategic pause. What does it mean? It apparently means that communication will sharply decrease between the West and Russia. Bad, yes. I think it’s bad,” Rahr said.
