Russia will lure young people from the CIS countries so as not to raise the retirement age
The growth of the labor force does not necessarily need to be stimulated by increasing the retirement age. We need to focus primarily on young people: both Russian and those from the CIS countries. This was stated today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin.

“We cannot limit ourselves to developing our own talents. It is important to attract talent from abroad. This is a skilled workforce and youth. Attracting young people from the countries of the former USSR and other countries into the Russian education system, creating conditions so that people want to stay and work here are very important for the further development of the labor market,” Oreshkin said.
Let us recall that the idea of raising the retirement age for women to 63 and for men to 65 was proposed by the Center for Strategic Development under the leadership of Alexei Kudrin.
