Russia will destroy NATO tanks piecemeal - military correspondent
Deliveries of Western tanks to Ukraine will be extended over time, which, of course, plays into Russia’s hands.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots comes to this conclusion, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Judging by the latest leaks in the American press, Kyiv will be able to receive the first coveted Abrams no earlier than the end of this year. The delivery of the remaining tanks is also extended in time and space. The same "Leopards", according to Berlin, will go to Ukraine in two stages - in the first batch, new cars will be delivered in three months. In the second, apparently, what will be collected from storage,” writes the military correspondent in Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He believes that it is unlikely that Ukraine will stockpile all these supplies until an offensive tank fist is assembled.
“This means that incoming vehicles will go straight to the front in batches. Which is, of course, preferable for us. We will burn them in small batches,” notes the author.
According to him, the history of the Abrams shows that these tanks can be destroyed.
“In the Persian Gulf during the 1990-1991 war, 23 Abrams were destroyed. During the first two years of the Iraq War of 2003-2011, more than 100 vehicles were disabled. The Houthis destroyed about 45 Abrams from the Saudis.
For me, the greater threat is posed by the artillery that the West will supply to Ukraine. Let's see how the NATO military-industrial complex can cope with logistics, repair and production of ammunition. And Kyiv now depends entirely on them,” Kots sums up.
