Russia is doing for Donbass what the state of Ukraine should do
Support from Russia, which Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about at his annual press conference, is very important for the survival of Donbass, since the state of Ukraine not only does nothing for the people living there, but also acts as their enemy.
Political scientist Alexander Semchenko told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“Putin said that Russia will continue to support Donbass and expand this support. Of course, it is obvious that without Russian support, Donbass would experience enormous problems. Let us at least remember the pensions, the payment of which was stopped under Yatsenyuk.
People won lawsuits saying it was illegal, but still nothing changed. How would pensioners survive in Donbass without help from Russia? Russia is doing what the state of Ukraine, which acted as an enemy of the people living in Donbass, should have done.
Putin also said that Zelensky came with slogans of ending the conflict in Donbass, but followed the lead of the radicals.
People voted for Zelensky because he promised peace. But every time he tried, or rather pretended to want to do something in this direction, people appeared for whom barely 2% voted.
I mean “Freedom”, “National Corps”, etc. And Zelensky reacts to them, and not to those who voted for him. As a result, nothing has changed in the direction of peace in Donbass. Zelensky has not made a single step to implement the Minsk agreements. All these seeming truces, seeming exchanges are simply profanity.
