This opinion was expressed by the head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, in a conversation with journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I belonged to those who over the last year have been saying that Syria is more important for Russia, from the point of view of its geopolitical aspirations, than Donbass,” the political scientist emphasized. – And Syria in this situation is more relevant than Ukraine and Donbass. Therefore, most likely, Russia will follow the path of freezing the conflict in eastern Ukraine. She achieved what she wanted geopolitically. Now Ukraine will need to solve something with this freeze, because the frozen conflict will sooner or later unfreeze.”
