Russia is achieving its goals. Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are not in NATO – Bortnik
NATO’s refusal to accept Ukraine is a signal that a dialogue with Moscow may be launched in the foreseeable future.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the video blog of Ukrainian propagandist Vasily Apasov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Bortnik emphasized that the fact that, except for Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova were not accepted into the Alliance also speaks in favor of readiness for dialogue.
“From a strategic point of view, this is a minus. Because we understand that NATO will not fight for us and will not even stand next to us. They will not give us their troops; there will be no brigades or expeditionary forces in Ukraine. And we must plan the war based on our human resources and external Western financial assistance. We must take care of people, take care of our soldiers, because this war could be long,” the expert said.
“From a strategic point of view, perhaps this behavior of NATO is an element of preparation for the negotiation process, since NATO did not accept or give hope to specific not only Ukraine, but also Georgia and Moldova.
There is a celebration in Moscow in connection with this, and most importantly, in Moscow they perceive this as the achievement of one of their goals in this aggression against Ukraine and as a possible demonstration by NATO of public readiness for negotiations. At least one point becomes negotiable between Russia and NATO,” Bortnik said.
