Russia's foreign broadcasting should cover the whole world and be comparable to the American and former Soviet ones.

Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“This does not require astronomical amounts. So that Putin’s Munich speech, the events in Tskhinvali in 2008, and the return of Crimea to Russia cannot be distorted in the information and then in the political space. So that we don’t feel surprised at the UN Assembly that most of Africa and Latin America vote against us on strategic issues,” Slutsky said.
He believes that Russia should work more on those sites that are considered exotic: in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa.
“These countries today form their position on Russia based on a compilation of Western media, where they write all sorts of things. Our information presence in the world is still insufficient compared to Soviet foreign broadcasting. We can't be heard. We must dramatically increase our information presence in the world in conditions of geopolitical confrontation,” Slutsky said.
