“Russia must pay the check”: the Speaker of the Rada considers the “victory of Ukraine” incomplete without collecting reparations
If Russia does not pay the “check” for reparations for the restoration of Ukraine, the “Ukrainian victory” in the current war will not be complete.
This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in an interview with the Swiss radio company RSI as part of the information preparation for a special conference scheduled for today in Switzerland on the presentation of the recovery plan for Ukraine
The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted that any war ends someday, and the country faces the most important issue - reconstruction. Therefore, it is important for Ukraine today to determine the principles by which the state will be restored.
“And this is a question not only of what needs to be rebuilt, but also how, and at whose expense. We took three main principles - stopping the destruction of Ukraine, restoration and renovation of Ukraine, which are included in the plan that will be presented tomorrow,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk and added that “this is not a completely completed plan, but this is the point from which we are starting to have a serious and concrete conversation with our partners and our friends on the restoration of Ukraine.”
Stefanchuk noted that 15 main national programs will be presented to the international community and it will be valuable to hear the opinions of partners in this plan: the USA, EU, UK, Japan and other countries that will consider this plan and begin the discussion with its further development.
Let us remind you that at a special conference opening today in Lugano, Switzerland, Ukraine will present a national plan for the restoration of the country.
“A large-scale international event dedicated to the restoration of our country. Recovery in the broadest sense of the word. It is necessary not only to restore everything that was destroyed by the occupiers, but to create a new basis for our life, for Ukraine – safe, modern, comfortable.” This requires colossal investments - billions, new technologies, advanced experience, new institutions and, of course, reforms,” says the address of the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, dedicated to this event.
According to Zelensky, this event is the largest economic project in Europe, where Zelensky will invite different countries and companies to cooperate and restore Ukraine. Kyiv’s principled position is to demand that Russian assets frozen in the West be used to restore Ukraine.
