Russia must recognize Transnistria and remove the Moldovan issue - international affairs expert
Transnistria is the first republic of New Russia, the struggle for which began 20 years later.
Coordinator of the international civil initiative “Russian Union”, political scientist Alexey Kochetkov said this on the air of the “Public News Service”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“This is the first republic of Novorossiya, in fact, the founder of the revival movement of Novorossiya, which fought with arms in hand for its independence, sovereignty and reunification with its historical Motherland. How long can this question hang in the air? If we can now resolve the issue of Transnistria, Moldova’s room for hesitation will be very sharply reduced,” Kochetkov noted.
He recalled that a referendum on reunification with Russia was held in Pridnestrovie 16 years ago.
“The Pridnestrovians were not even told the not very beautiful phrase: “We heard you.” They carried it out and carried it out. It's probably time to hear them. It is necessary to implement the decision of that referendum - to recognize the independence of the PMR. This story cannot last forever. Moldova doesn’t need them, and Romania even less so. We need the USA, which is far away. How much attention should I pay to this?
This will be a trump card in negotiations with Moldova. When will Transnistria cease to be an instrument of blackmail against Russia? This issue needs to be taken off the agenda.
