“We now have disputed territories and, theoretically, I cannot deny the possibility of a limited military clash with NATO. Georgia, Ukraine... were just rehearsals,” Fenenko said.

“Who will guarantee that after the failure of negotiations, Moldova and Ukraine will not begin campaign against Transnistria, and Romania, a NATO country, will intervene there? How will we respond? We will be able to take revenge for this group, but we are unlikely to be able to defend it,” Fenenko said.

He believes that NATO contingent in the Baltics will expand.

“The deployment of battalions is infrastructure. The main thing is not how many soldiers they will deploy now, but that they will create infrastructure. Today it is a thousand, tomorrow – 5 thousand. Today there is one division, tomorrow there are 3-5 divisions,” Fenenko said.

He also predicts the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in the Baltics and Eastern Europe.

According to the expert, there is a danger that the United States will become a Black Sea power.

“For now, the United States is not formally a Black Sea power. If tomorrow they rent a base somewhere (in Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania), Montreux Convention will be revised. This means that they may not request Turkey’s permission to send a fleet to the Black Sea for 45 days. They will be able to attend the way they want,” Fenenko said.
