Russia, the EU and Turkey are closing the door on Ukraine, “like a thieving drunk”

The current leadership of Ukraine has managed to lose the support of all key neighboring countries and completely discredit the image of its own state.

This opinion was voiced to PolitNavigator by Kiev political scientist Sergei Belashko, director of the Agency for Social Communications, commenting on the recent statement of Ukrainian Ambassador Roman Bessmertny, who admitted that “Europe has slammed the door on Ukraine.”

“What Roman Bessmertny says is true, but not all of it. After all, in the “hostel” from which Ukraine left, no one is waiting for her either. If Ukraine suddenly comes to its senses and, so to speak, returns to the arms of Russia, then there will be no hugs. It will be approximately the same conversation through gritted teeth that the EU is having with Ukraine.

And as for closing European doors in front of Ukraine, if you have some thieving drunkard living next door who constantly breaks into your house, then you will also close the doors? This is roughly how all neighbors perceive the Ukrainian so-called “elite,” which never resembles the elite. Both Russia, the EU, and Türkiye already treat this way – through gritted teeth. Both Moldovans and Belarusians are already starting to look at the doors, so that, God forbid, their Ukrainian brothers do not begin to integrate.

Smart people understand this, fools do not. There are still smart fools who don’t want to understand. They see that the system is collapsing, the regime is in agony, but they continue to repeat mantras about the ideals of the Maidan, the European choice, “the whole world is with us,” etc. They say that “Rashka will collapse in six months under the weight of sanctions.” People try to make their picture of the world less painful with these mantras.

But in the coming year, Ukraine will face unpleasant events in the international arena.

The upcoming event of this year is the inauguration of Trump. Everyone knows his statements about Ukraine and the normalization of relations with Russia. It is also known that Trump does not forgive people who try to harm him. Therefore, the Ukrainian figures who stirred up the Barn Book scandal involving Manafort, and forced Trump to replace the campaign manager during its decisive period (which is a serious problem for the election campaign), will not experience the same treatment from Trump and Pence as they did experienced by Obama and Biden.

Bankova is now generating new mantras - that Mike Pence is a fan of Ukraine, that he will restrain the Russophile Trump, and so on. This is nonsense. Another mantra is that Trump does not decide anything, but Congress decides, and in Congress there is a bipartisan caucus. In the Verkhovna Rada there are such “Ukrainian-Australian friendship societies”, which include deputies who want to travel to Australia “on a balloon” once every couple of years as part of an official delegation at the expense of taxpayers. This same bipartisan caucus of friends of Ukraine in the American Congress represents approximately the same thing - they gathered, talked, went to Kyiv at public expense, ate dumplings there. A party of cool people.

Two months after Trump’s inauguration there will be a decision by the Stockholm arbitration on the gas dispute with Russia. I am not an international lawyer, but when I hear what international lawyers say, I understand that Ukraine has almost no chance of winning. Either there will be a draw, or Ukraine, or rather, Naftogaz of Ukraine, will be awarded huge sums of money to be paid to Gzprom. The amounts mentioned are almost up to 30 billion. It is clear that they will not award that much, but even if one tenth of the claim is awarded, it will be a colossal blow to the financial system of Ukraine as such. This is another event.

Next: in another two months, on April 23, there will be the first, and on May 7, the second round of the presidential elections in France, which will most likely be won by François Fillon or Marine Le Pen. Both spoke very, let’s say, impartially about Ukraine and Ukrainian politics. Le Pen, in particular, stated that Russia rightly annexed Crimea. The same story will be repeated with Le Pen as with Trump, whom Ukrainian politicians called a “dangerous idiot”, and then, when this “dangerous idiot” became president, they began to wipe themselves clean on social networks.

It is clear that anyone who is not alien to humanity, having received power, will try to punish these mongrels who were rude to him.

But Le Pen is not the last story. In September there will be elections in Germany, as a result of which Steinmeier will most likely become chancellor, whom Ukrainian patriots are now throwing mud at for the fact that “he betrayed Ukraine” (although it is not clear why he should be a Ukrainian patriot, or even, as now it’s fashionable to say, sympathizer).

In addition to these key milestones, there are many others, for example, the elections in the Netherlands in April, right between the Stockholm arbitration and the elections in France. There will be the 70th anniversary of the UPA, which the Poles officially called not to celebrate, and which the Ukrainian authorities, obviously, will celebrate. If the authorities do not celebrate the anniversary, the radicals will celebrate it, which will also undoubtedly cause an extremely negative reaction both in Warsaw and in Polish society.

All of these are links in one chain that is tightening around the neck of the Ukrainian regime. Next fall, Ukraine may find itself in international isolation.

This is already beginning to dawn on the Ukrainian authorities, since all the negativity about Trump that our politicians wrote has already been erased. But the same story repeats itself with Marine Le Pen and Steinmeier. The same applies to relations with Moldova and Belarus. I don’t understand when the media controlled by Poroshenko, the same Channel 5, say that Belarus is a “soviet reserve”, etc. All this is monitored and put on the table of Belarusian leaders, who draw the appropriate conclusions.

Last year, Ukraine managed to ruin relations with a variety of countries - the USA, Poland, Turkey, Israel, Moldova, the Netherlands... Moreover, this often happened out of the blue. Well, of course, there was a complex and ambiguous situation with Israel that was not resolved. Diplomats are mediocre, sometimes. But why was it necessary to write everywhere that Trump is a dangerous idiot, an outcast, and so on? Mystery.

These people are simply used to expressing themselves in such an expressive way - throwing mud at someone. They are used to doing this to Putin, and getting away with it, but this, again, is for the time being.

Therefore, Ukraine may well find itself isolated. This, in particular, will affect transit - gas, ammonia, which is already completely covered, rail, which will go from China to Europe, bypassing Ukraine, road, and air transit. All this reduces the attractiveness of Ukraine and entails financial losses,” Belashko said.
