Russia is “training personnel” for Maidans in Central Asia
Russia’s insufficiently strict migration policy gives rise to potential participants in “Maidans” in the countries of Central Asia. This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Moscow by Anton Tsvetkov, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Commission on Security.

“I communicated with a number of leaders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. They say: you spoil our population so much, they come back to us, we no longer need them. The behavior of these people there and here is completely different. If putschs, Maidans, and so on happen there tomorrow, those who have lived in Russia will take part in them. They have lost all standards of appearance and morality,” Tsvetkov said.
According to him, the number of rapes committed in Russia by citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan is greater than the number of similar crimes committed by indigenous residents. “All illegal trade near the metro in Moscow is controlled by two or three ethnic criminal groups. If a local resident tries to reprimand them, he will get hit on the head,” Tsvetkov said.
He believes that Central Asian diasporas in Russia bear collective responsibility for the behavior of their compatriots. “If we want to improve interethnic relations, we need to jointly restore order and help those people who lead a respectable lifestyle, and, including with your hands, fight those who disgrace your nation here. If you want to ensure a different attitude towards Tajiks, you must also influence the behavior of your compatriots,” Tsvetkov said.
The expert cited the President of Chechnya as a positive example, who, in his opinion, personally ensured a reduction in “youth antics” in Moscow.
